Eb Alto Saxophone has some issues in the software (and website) where a C#4 has a 'soft' sound like the notes above it. On a real Alto Sax, a C#4 has a 'straighter' sound like the pitches below it. I do understand that synthesizing saxophones is a lot harder than other instruments. Aside, this is an annoying issue, especially when creating chords with other saxophones. Are there any other instruments that have note 'tone accuracy' issues? This is a problem with both SoundFonts, the default and the font for pre-Musescore 2.0.

Equinox Grand not Working
I am currently trying to post a score on MuseScore with SoundFont "Equinox Grand", but each time I put it up, it changes to the regular SoundFont. How do I fix this?
Why are added soundfonts not appended?
I can't fathom why the synthesiser adds new soundfonts in this way. I want to keep fluid and the other previously added soundfonts above the those added later, but you end up having to laboriously shift them down.
Why doesn't it just append them to the list? It seems to me a default sort of method.
startLoop, endLoop in SF3
The SF2 specification says,
"The DWORD dwStartloop contains the index, in sample data points, from the beginning of the sample data field to the first data point in the loop of this sample," and similarly for dwEndLoop. What does this exactly mean for SF3 files with OGG samples? Is it the number of sample data points in the original uncompressed sample?
According to the SF2 spec,
"Thus dwStart must be less than dwStartloop-7, dwStartloop must be less than dwEndloop-31, and dwEndloop must be less than dwEnd-7."
This is not true for most samples in FluidR3Mono_GM.sf3, but maybe for uncompressed counterparts?
Flauto Traverso
Anyone know of a high-quality soundfont of a baroque flute, or at least a soundfont that sounds a lot like one? Any baroque woodwinds would also be of use, but more specifically, a flute would come quite in handy.
A baroque flute has an incredibly soft timbre, as it is often made of wood or ivory. So I suppose a woody-sounding instrument would work nicely. The second thing to note would be a soundfont with no vibrato, as that's something modern flutes tend to have.
Here are some examples of what I'm talking about/What I'm looking for:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q_HZZ_1O0xM
or something more mellow like this:

Any help/links/samples would be greatly appreciated, to say the least.
Difference between the SquidFont Orchestral SoundFont and the Bellatrix Orchestra SoundFont?
I don't know what are the differences between the SquidFont Orchestral SoundFont and the Bellatrix Orchestra SoundFont. All I know is that the SquidFont Orchestral SoundFont samples sound like a small ensemble of sections, when the Bellatrix Orchestra SoundFont samples sound like an even bigger section that has the same ensemble instruments and with more instruments for a big section, they are in tune. Is that true? If you guys already have the SoundFonts, can you please answer this article for me?
looking for cello and drums
hi, i'm looking for authentic cello and drums sf2. I've tried most soundfounts out there, or at least the ones I can find, and I'm pleased with my cello sound. But it could be better. I'm looking for something with a real depth and scratchiness.
Drums, I think, are a nightmare. I'm looking for an authentic acoustic sound, as real as possible.
Any suggestions?
Gong Roll
I've been looking everywhere for a rolling gong soundfont. It's not possible to make a passible gong roll from the tremolo options in musescore. Does anyone have anything?
Issues With Uploading Certain SoundFonts Online...
So for a certain song I've composed I selected very specific soundfonts that, when uploaded to the musescore website, only play back using the piano soundfont. I'd like to know if the issue is in the soundfonts I'm using (which I don't think it is, considering I've used some of these before and they played normally online) or if it's something else, and if there's something I can do to fix the issue. Thank you.
Gong sound in TImbres of Heaven
I know that the defualt soundfont doesn't have a gong sound effect, but does TImbres of Heaven have one?
My Own Symphonic Orchestra SoundFont Collection
Hi Everyone! I've just made my own Symphonic Orchestra Collection SoundFont for you all to use for composing anything and then export it to any audio format by sending links to me.
Warning: NOT a GM or GS Bank. You are going to have to choose the instruments when creating a composition.
Although, I need more instruments than this, But you can Download the SoundFont here: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B2I_8bgGH-Q3TjA5MnpsaVNPUzg
Here are the Instruments I used but need some more from all of you.
Farfisa Grand Piano: Perfect Piano Samples to use for anything!
VSCO Concert Harp: Beautiful Sound, Even for Solo Passages, But needs more dynamics than that.
Harp Solo: I don't know where that SoundFont came from? Oh well, Still a beautiful Sound for 2nd Harp Parts.
Violin I, II, Violas, Celli, Basses Legato, Pizz, Detatche, and Tremolo, (From SquidFont Orchestral) Beautiful Sound for Slow Passages, But however, the Strings in the Legato Section need more accents for fast passages.
AA Violin Solo: Oh!, My!, Gosh!!! That Violin SoundFont Sounds SO BEAUTIFUL!!!!!, It doesn't need to be looped. Perfect to use for Solo Violin Cadenzas, and other stuff in solo parts.
Solo Violin Pizz: More like a small violin section though.
My Violin: Notice that I've recorded these samples. What do you think about that? Since I'm always a 2nd Violinist when I audition for All County and All State Orchestras anyway, This will do for a 2nd Violin Solo, (Less Dramatic than AA Violin).
Viola Solo: Samples from here: https://www.freesound.org/people/Carlos_Vaquero/packs/9520/ and oh, how beautiful they sound. Perfect for Slow Passages, but NOT Fast Passages, Because the samples need more accents, and More Chromatic Samples.
Solo Viola Pizz: More like a small viola section though.
Richard Thomas's Cello: Sample I used for some good notes from an Improvisation here: https://www.freesound.org/people/richtcello/sounds/32437/ (I really hope and wish that some day or months, or a year, That cellist will learn how to record REAL Note Samples than keep on recording Improvisations! Can you please tell me why some people don't record Note Samples when they ONLY do Improvisations like he does?, But however, I really liked All of his Improvisations. But really, He needs to learn how to record NOTE SAMPLES like I commented here, (2nd Comment I've posted on this Sound): https://www.freesound.org/people/richtcello/sounds/32442/)
Solo Cello Pizz: More like a small cello section though.
Contrabass: Somehow from SGM, Really good for solos or small Ensemble Scores.
Solo Contrabass Pizz: More like a small bass section though.
Piccolo: I don't know where that SoundFont came from, Oh well, Still a beautiful Sound for anything.
CFlute: Wow! Best Flute SoundFont I've ever heard, Beautiful and Perfect for Solo passages and sections!
Oboe: I don't know where that SoundFont came from, Oh well, Still a beautiful Sound for anything.
Eddie's English Horn: The Perfect English Horn SoundFont for Solos in Slow, But NOT Fast Passages.
UOI Clarinet: Better than the Bad Clarinet Samples from Fluid. Perfect for Solo passages.
UOI Bassoon: Perfect for Solos, and Much better Sound than Ethan's Bassoon, I mean, Ethan's bassoon still sounds great, but UOI Bassoon Sounds much better.
Solo French Horn: Perfect for Solo parts.
JL Trumpet: A great Trumpet SoundFont for Solo Passages.
Muted Trumpet: Great and Sounds more like an Orchestral Trumpet being muted.
JL Trombone: A great Trombone SoundFont for Solo Passages, Even Bass Trombone parts.
SGM Tuba: Samples are Great!
ProjectSam Timpani: This Timpani is Perfect for it's own articulations! (Warning: This Timpani is in different layers though!)
Harpsichord: Perfect for Continuo Parts, Even the Same Samples for Coupled Harpsichord and Grand Harpsichord when playing even louder!
VSCO Pipe Organ, Loud and Quiet, with Pedal: Amazing Organ I've ever heard, and perfect for the Continuo Part also in Baroque Music! (Warning: You need to create two organ parts, one with the 2 staffs, and the other one with the pedal staff only!) And also, Use the Quiet Stops for Soft Passages in Baroque Music, and the Loud Stops for Louder and Faster Passages in Baroque Music!
GeneralUser GS Celeste, Glockenspiel, Vibraphone, Marimba, and Xylophone, (Or GS for Short): These instrument samples are a good idea than the regular Fluid Samples!
Crotales: A SoundFont on which ChurchOrganist created.
Timpani from SGM: Normal Timpani just in case.
Tubular Bells: I don't know where that SoundFont came from, Oh well. But it has good samples.
Bank 1:
Alto Flute SSO
UOI Bass Clarinet
UOI Eb Clarinet
Contrabassoon SSO
Recorder: From No Budget Instruments. Great Recorder Samples!
SGM Horn Section: Good for Tutti Passages.
Female and Male Choir Separated.
Irina and Pavel Brochin. Good for Solo parts in Choral Music.
Bank 128:
Orchestral Drum Kit
Mellow Orchestra Kit from SquidFont Orchestral: (Warning! Not like the other one!)
Wish List: Harp Dynamics, Better Samples from Richard Thomas, Solo and Sections everything! ALL INSTRUMENTS you can request for better replacements!
Let me know what you think about ALL of the Instruments and you can comment about them, the SoundFont itself, and feel-free to Post a LOT of Compositions using the SoundFont for MuseScore!
Anyone know of a good soundfont for piano and strings?
Normally, I use the SGM V2 as my go-to soundfont for my transcripts but recently i've been wanting to get into transcribing string sonatas and piano trios, quartets, quintets, etc. I'm probably going to start writing my own piano chamber music, not in the near future probably, but who knows. Anyway, I'm not a big fan of how strings sound on SGM, so if anyone knows of anything, it'd be much appreciated. Again I'm looking for a soundfont with a quality sounding piano and strings.
Clarinet sound
I think that the Clarinet sound is horrible. That's all I want to say. (Fix it please!!)
SSO has been looped!
Just saw this, and sharing.
It can be downloaded here:
https://musical-artifacts.com/artifacts/456
and more info & demos can be found here:
https://sig-ex.com/2017/03/12/sso-se-looped-sso-instruments/
It's in sfz format but the developer encourages that it gets converted. I'm not an SF2 expert myself, so thanks in advance to whoever migth convert it.

Hurdy Gurdy
I miss a suitable sound for my instrument the hurdy gurdy. Is there (now, or in the near future) a solution for us hurdy gurdy-players? Is a good hurdy gurdy-soundsample to be expected?
Marching percussion questions
So I am a big marching band fan.
I have a couple questions about the sounds for the marching percussion. First, the stick ckicks under the marching snare is very quiet. I'm not sure if it is intentional or a bug, but usually stick clicks are more piercing in real life. I did find a solution: I made two staves for snare drum, the stick click and the regular snare. Then, I turned all the instruments way down, and turned the stick clicks up all the way. The major problem with this is now the playback for all the instruments is extremely quiet when I put it on my phone.
Secondly, are there certain pitches the quad-toms are in a real marching band? Are the regular tom-toms at that pitch or only the matching tenor drums?
Sounds have a staccato accent whenever they are played- how to fix?
Hello, Apologies if this has already been questioned... I couldn't find it.
I put a new custom soundfont for some of my instruments. Whenever the notes are played they play really loud for a short time to the beginning, then they become quiet.
What's wrong? how do I fix this?
- Thanks
Combine Soundfonts
I have 200+ soundfonts that I would like to use. What I would like to do is combine them all into one big soundfont, but I am new to this. Does anyone know any good software to do that?
Is there a "REALLY" AWESOME SoundFont for my Unfinished Violin Concerto?
This is getting TOO Old! I need to find a "REALLY AWESOME ORCHESTRAL SOUNDFONT" to use for my Violin Concerto I'm writing!!!. Although I need to find a SoundFont that really sounds and plays ACTUALLY like a "REAL PROFESSIONAL" orchestra does!!!!! So far, I've seen a lot of orchestra packs that cost TOO MANY DOLLARS, even for the Vienna Symphonic Library's Instruments, But these orchestra packs would be great if I would use them for a composition like this! Sonatina Symphonic Orchestra might be a great SoundFont for this piece, but here's the problem with that Orchestral SoundFont!
1: SSO doesn't have ENOUGH INSTRUMENTS for this piece!
2: The SoundFont itself sounds week.
and 3: Itdoesn't even Sound CLOSE to a REAL ORCHESTRA, except the percussion and timpani.
GeneralUser GS would be great, but NOT SO GREAT!, SGM-V2.01, may sound week, FluidR3?, (NO WAY!!!!!, Too much bad sounds!!!!!), Timbres of Heaven, (Same as Fluid), GMR Basico, (A total Rip-off of Fluid, and still wouldn't sound great!), MuseScore Orchestra, (Same thing as Fluid almost!!!), SONIVOX, Maybe for this SoundFont, but nope!, Musyng Kite, Maybe, (Only the Cello preset Sounds BEAUTIFUL for that part!), HQ Orchestra, (Almost perfect, but NOT REALLY!).
Ugh! Someone please help me "FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!!!!!" On what SoundFont would be the best for this composition!!!!!
If you have any ideas on what SoundFont should be the best, please comment me and send me a link.

Yamaha C5 Grand Now available for free download
Having spent a considerable amount of time on "perfecting" the Salamander Grand for sf2 format it has now reached the stage where I think you will be happy with the result.
Alexander Holm did a marvelous job at sampling and packaging this free piano. I have now finished editing all of the samples (removed blanks at the front for low latency, normalized the samples, re-attenuated) and added various presets.
The finished result is 592mb in size (924 samples) and has 15 velocity layers with optional resonance.
You can listen to YouTube samples by Anifuse in Japan (who plays a lot, lot better than myself) here:
https://youtu.be/C_R6jvDXbEM
You can download the Yamaha C5 direct from here:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3zFERJ2rMQpNERvOEFYZVdjYVU/view?usp=sh...
or if you go to my site
https://sites.google.com/site/soundfonts4u/
you can download it from 4) of the Piano section.
Hoping you enjoy.
